Dreams are made of chocolate.

Hey now
Hey now,
This is what dreams are made of...

Dude, I swear when Hilary Duff wrote those lyrics, she was talking about Singapore--specifically the chocolate bar at the Marina Bay Sands hotel.

I can't even begin to describe what went down tonight for many reasons...first, it's 1:28 am and I'm too exhausted to type it out.  Second, it was way too ridiculous...but the best kind of ridiculous...Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'll let these do the talking for me.

I had so much chocolate tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if it made its way into my lungs and bloodstream.  One more bite of chocolate cake and chocolate probably would have begun to leak out of my ears.

Then again, probably not, but I wasn't taking any chances.  If I wasn't so tired, I'd continue blabbing, but overall, it was a great night with great people and most importantly, great chocolate.

I don't know what Hilary's dreams are made of, but tonight, mine are made of chocolate.

Good night and sweet chocolate-y dreams,

I Suck.

Hey guys!

So, I know I suck.  Like, big time.  BUT, I've decided that as of today, I will be a better person.  As of today, I will blog...

Honestly though, not gonna lie...it has been a struggle which would explain why I've been putting it off for so long!  I've taken so many pictures and videos...yes, videos.  Dude, I swear, I can't even count the number of weird looks I got every time I was caught talking to a camera, or whipping one out in the middle of a mall or restaurant.... all in the name of friendship!  Hip hip hooray!

So, yeah, let's talk Singapore!  Wait, what?  Where am I again?  Oh yeah, Singapore... I had that conversation with myself so many times in the last two weeks just because it still feels surreal at times.  Where do I even begin... it is not what I expected at all...Singapore is surprisingly clean.  I was expecting like little tiki huts and dirt roads...ahaha! Not the case.  At all.

Dude, you can't eat or drink on public transportation.  Speaking of drinking and eating, food here is amazing and amazingly cheap!!!!!  I'm obsessed!! They have these things called hawker centers which are basically outdoor food courts where a meal can run anywhere from 1.70 SGD (Singapore dollars) to like 5 SGD.

This is Laksa, which is a malay dish with rice noodles and a spicy, coconut based broth!  I can't even imagine going back to the states and paying 7 bucks for a full meal...Singapore is making me cheap, and I love it.

Wait, but dude, you know what's crazy?  Ben and Jerry's.  Ben and Jerry's is 2 for 25 SGD here.  I don't get it.  You can get a complete meal for less than three bucks, then grab ice cream for four times the cost of your meal.  Also, burt's bees tinted lip balm is $15 here!!!  And it's sold in Sephora!  Speaking of things here in Singapore...Green Tea Kit Kat!!!! And the Mentos flavors are different here!!  Oh my goodness, the food.  I can't even... I could go on and on and on and on, but to spare you guys, I'll keep it at that.

I'm actually sitting in class right now.  I'm supposed to be participating in this discussion going on. Dude, I seriously suck.

Much love and Singaporean kisses,
Kimmy

Breaking the ice

Here goes...my first blog post on this thing! It's strange; the more time you have on your hands, the less will you have to do anything productive. So although I have had a plenitude of free time, I seemingly haven't had the right kind of time to post on here. Here's an amalgam of what I've been up to in the first week!

I got back on Saturday morning and we stopped by Flushing, New York (Chinatown) right after. Yummy Chinese food! The next morning, having napped for five hours and slept for another eight, Nicole and I climbed Sleeping Giant, the local big hill/small mountain that looks like a sleeping man lying down on his back from far away. Nicole and my dad are on this walking/healthcraze thing right now and have hiked the mountain many, many times. She knew all the paths back to front. I felt kind of stupid just following her. The views were amazing! At times we were actually climbing - not walking - climbing up rock faces to get to the top.

Taking a rest at the top!

Sleeping Giant used to be a huge rock quarry...so there were a lot of unfinished rock gorges.

The view from my hammock in my backyard!  I read many of my books here :)
The other exciting thing that happened was one of my good friends came home. Gabby is the only one of my friends I'll see before leaving for China, which is sad, but at least we caught up with each other! I helped her do some shopping...Here are some of my favorite outfits we tried on at F21.

Shameless selfies

I strangely LOVE this outfit.

Everyone's reaction when they see this photo: "YOU WOULD EMILY"

You can't see but my boobs are mashed flat against my chest. More a sports bra than a bustier.
That's all! I also bought 2.5 yards of fabric to make my own dress because I was bored. I spent like 10 hours sewing it by hand, finished it, and then had to fix it which messed it up more, so I've given up for today. I will keep you updated...Arian is supposed to come back tonight, but he missd his first flight because he slept through it (typical) and his second one is delayed due to low fuel :( Hopefully I'll see him for more than two days...
